Australian standard of cancer care now available in Dhaka: Australia Bangladesh Comprehensive Cancer Centre goes into operation

Bangladesh is going to see new hope in cancer treatment with the inauguration of the Australia Bangladesh Comprehensive Cancer Centre on 1st November 2021. It’s a joint venture of TSR Health Services in Australia and Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital.

Once the centre is in full operation, cancer patients need not go abroad anymore to get better cancer treatment. They will get a world-class cancer management system in the Australia Bangladesh Comprehensive Cancer Centre. In this cancer center, cancer patients will get service and advice from experienced health professionals and oncologists based in Australia and Bangladesh. This cancer center will cost-effectively offer complete cancer management, including the correct staging of cancer, evidence-based cancer treatment & follow-up.

Dr. M. Ahmedullah, a Senior Consultant at Lyell McEwin Hospital (one of the largest Government Hospitals in Adelaide, Australia) & the Project Coordinator of Australia Bangladesh Comprehensive Cancer Centre, elaborated about this initiative, “the vision behind this project is to offer cancer patients & their caregiver a platform to get the same quality of care as regards treatment, investigations & follow up similar to how it is done in Australia with a very reasonable cost. We shall be upfront, transparent with no compromise to the standard of care.”

Located in Level 6, 55 Satmasjid Road, Dhaka 1209 (near Zigatola Bus Stand; same building as Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital), this cancer center is open six days a week except for Friday. In this initial stage, Australia Bangladesh Comprehensive Cancer Centre remains open from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm.
